The Relaxed Luxury Of Sound Of The Sea
A Home Awash With Colors ~ A Vacation Your Family Will Always Cherish: Sound of the Sea is set only 75 feet from the high tide, and at low tide enjoys the glorious exposed granite ledges with Frenchman's Bay lapping up over them.
You'll find descriptions of each floor below the picture gallery!

FIRST FLOOR: The Entrance Hall has a Powder Room on one side and leads to the Living Room on the other. The room itself is beautifully lit with a chandelier, other ceiling lighting, and sconces.
The Living Room will comfortably accommodate your entire family! Wherever you sit, you'll have panoramic views of the ocean through eight large windows and French Doors! The dining table, set in the corner of the Living Room, also provides ocean views to everybody.
But one of the prettiest views is into the Kitchen with the royal blue tile countertop drawing the eye away from anything else. When we're just two or four people, we tend to eat here rather than at the dining table.
The Kitchen, which we designed based on the spacious functionality found in Michelin-starred Manhattan restaurants, accommodates up to four of your family working together to prepare a gourmet dinner. The Kitchen and adjacent Pantry are thoroughly equipped with every piece of equipment you'll possibly want to use, as well as a wide variety of properly sharpened Japanese and German knives.
On the other side of the Living Room, the large screened porch feels like it's right on the ocean and is set up for eight people to gather and dine.
SECOND FLOOR: Each of the three large, beautifully appointed bedrooms has a King Bed, Oriental rug, television, and an en suite Bathroom. (One bathroom has a tub/shower combination and two have showers. All have instant, unlimited hot water). Each bedroom has four windows or more, with views of Frenchman's Bay and the open ocean. The ample lighting in each room sets off the gorgeous colors of the walls!
We think the very prettiest colors are to be found in the Reading Room, which connects the Bedrooms.
THIRD FLOOR: The "Turret Room" is where the family gathers to watch television on a large flat screen television. You look out onto Eagle Watch, the Observation Deck, and the trees and ocean beyond.
THE WHOLE HOUSE: During the summer, most often the "natural air conditioning" coming off the ocean is more than sufficient to keep you at a delightful temperature. But we do have some ninety-degree days when you'll especially appreciate the central air conditioning. At any time of the year, if you have allergies, you'll really appreciate the whole-house air filtration system. It filters the air around the clock. And if Bar Harbor has one of its periodic electrical outages, you'll very much appreciate our backup generator that is powerful enough to handle the demands of the entire house, including the central air conditioning!
During the other three seasons, you'll love the cozy heat provided by our ample baseboard hot water heating system.
Sound of the Sea is served by high-speed internet, both wired and Wi-Fi. It also has a large washer and dryer, a propane grill, and many other amenities.
